University of South Carolina Beaufort celebrated the graduation of 137 students on Dec. 10, 2022, in the first convocation ceremony for December graduates held on the Bluffton campus.

Each spring University of South Carolina Beaufort honors outstanding students through the University's Spring Academic Awards ceremony. Hannah Merchant is the 2022 Pamela J. Cooper Outstanding Communication Studies Student of the Year.

University of South Carolina Beaufort's Jeremy Smalls is one of a select group of student production assistants gaining real-world experience on the television show "By The River." Smalls, who is from Beaufort, will graduate in May 2022 with a B.A. in Communication Studies. As part of this co-production by South Carolina Educational Television (SCETV) and USCB, he has worked as a camera operator.

University of South Carolina Beaufort's Sophia Peach is one of a select group of student production assistants gaining real-world experience on the television show "By The River." Peach, who is from Cumming, Ga., will graduate in May 2022 with a B.A. in Communication Studies. As part of this co-production by South Carolina Educational Television (SCETV) and USCB, she has worked as a content creator.

University of South Carolina Beaufort's Aubrey Cassidy is one of a select group of student production assistants gaining real-world experience on the television show "By The River." Cassidy, who is from Dacula, Ga., will graduate in May 2022 with a B.A. in Studio Art.

University of South Carolina Beaufort's Leia Aldrich is one of a select group of student production assistants gaining real-world experience on the television show "By The River." Aldrich, who is from Moncks Corner, SC, will graduate in May 2022 with a B.A. in Communication Studies. As part of this co-production by South Carolina Educational Television (SCETV) and USCB, she has worked as a student producer.

University of South Carolina Beaufort's Hannah Merchant is one of a select group of student production assistants gaining real-world experience on the television show "By The River." Merchant, who is from Big Run, Pa., is a senior who will graduate in May 2022 with a B.A. in Communication Studies. As part of this co-production by South Carolina Educational Television (SCETV) and USCB, she has worked as a promotional producer.

Moreno Nava, a Nursing major at the University of South Carolina Beaufort, recently won a highly competitive $10,000 scholarship from the National Hispanic Health Foundation (NHHF). She is one of only two nursing students chosen for this award and the only undergraduate. She will graduate from USCB with a B.S.N. in Nursing in May 2023.

Sierra Brown, a USCB Nursing student in the Beaufort College Honors program, was awarded the Outstanding First-Year Student of the Year award on April 13.

University of South Carolina Beaufort's Karina Julia Dorris has been selected by the University of South Carolina-Columbia TRIO Department to become a Ronald E. McNair Scholar. Dorris is from Bluffton, SC and graduated from Bluffton High in 2021. She will graduate from USCB in 2025 with a B.S.N. in Nursing.

Nine students from South Carolina colleges and universities won 2021 Tourism Student Awards for outstanding academic achievement in culinary, hospitality, and tourism studies. Announcing University of South Carolina Beaufort's Fall 2021 Academic Honor Lists!

Campus Compact, national coalition of colleges and universities working to advance the public purposes of higher education, has named 173 student civic leaders who will make up the organization's 2022-2023 cohort of Newman Civic Fellows. Richard Bennett, a junior majoring in Human Services at University of South Carolina Beaufort, will join students from 38 states, Washington, D.C., and Mexico to form the cohort.
